I have got a question to answer and it is, would you want your future to be decided by others? Why or Why not?
Can you imagine being a 12 year old and being told that you will become a doctor for the rest of your life! I would hate to be told this and have the rest of my life determined by others. I would want to choose my own future because I want to live my own life not the way someone else wants me to live. You should have the freedom to be what you want to be. There are some good things about having your future decided for you and that is that everything is planned for you. For example you wouldn’t need to chose your school, what type of doctor you will be, where your school finances will come from and where you will work. Having a planned future gives you very few choices and I would not feel good about that. Having to make your own decisions and working hard for your self will give great satisfaction.

Lois Lowry
Lois Lowry was born Lois Ann Hammersberg in Hawaii march 20 1937, then moved to New York then to Pennsylvania, and from there went to Tokyo and lived in a gated American community. She is a famous writer who writes many great children books such as The Giver that won the Newbery medal. Her idea for her bestselling book The Giver was from a river of memories from her childhood where it was safe, familiar and comfortable. Her ideas for most of her other books are from her imagination. She now lives as a grandmother with her very shaggy Tibetan Terrier.
